SLAE B1 - Night Shift
Innovators with Insight
As a Senior Licenced Aircraft Engineer (SLAE) you will supervise the completion of the modification programme on 12 A330 aircraft over the next 5 years. You will be inspecting and signing off work on heavy structural modifications, including fuel tank work, to convert the aircraft into Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft (FSTA) at our Bournemouth Airport site.

As a SLAE, your key responsibilities will include:
· Ensuring that all technical staff working under your supervision carries out their duties in a safe and proper manner and in accordance with the relevant Aircraft Manuals, CAvS and
Airbus processes/procedures and the Company Exposition.
· To be particularly responsible for the line Maintenance/Hangar maintenance of aircraft, aircraft equipment allocated to your control by your Crew Chief or Manager.
· Liasion with production control for movement of spares to and from Stores.
· The ground movements of aircraft assigned to you by your Crew Chief.
· Recommending, in conjunction with your Crew Chief the nature, content and priority of non-stock stores demands.
· To report all safety/disciplinary matters to your Crew Chief.
· Requisitioning engineers of other disciplines to an aircraft as required and to co-ordinate them into the activity.
· Assuming overall responsibility for all trades engaged in work on the allocated area of the aircraft you have been allocated.
· Delivery of the Aircraft in a timely manner as directed by the Crew Chief / manager.
· All areas under your supervision are clean and tidy at all times.
· Defining, co-ordinating and being present at all occasions requiring hydraulic system and/or engine ground run functional testing of aircraft systems if Required.
· Assuming direct control of documentation of aircraft area under your control in order that you may assure yourself that all required entries are promptly and correctly recorded.
· Assisting your Crew Chief in monitoring the performance of staff under your control including attendance, timekeeping, sickness etc.
Other tasks set by the Manager or Crew Chief that are considered to be within the SLAE /LAE sphere of influence and control.
Maintenance of a harmonious working relationship between Cobham Aviation Services and Airbus Military staff.
Provide reports to an agreed timeframe covering:
§ Progress against set tasks Daily meeting.
§ Work not completed.
§ Improvement opportunities
§ Work planned for the coming period.
§ Attended Meetings.
As a SLAE your Qualifications and experience will ideally include
· Formalised Aircraft Engineering Training or a recognised apprenticeship within aviation.
· EASA B1 Licence with a current A330 Type rating.
· You must have extensive experience as a Licensed Engineer within a base maintenance environment and have held a Supervisory role within the past 24 months.
· You will have knowledge of wide body aircraft, aircraft conversions, maintenance tasks and cabin pressure tests.
What we expect from you: You should have previous supervisory and inspection experience, be used to working well in a large team, have good communication skills and problem solving abilities. You will also need to be IT literate
