Senior Licenced Aircraft Engineer - Culdrose

As a Senior Licenced Aircraft Engineer (SLAE) you will supervise, carry out and inspect engineering tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer - Military Flying Training System (MFTS). Responsible to the Chief Engineer MFTS for the daily tasking of engineering personnel involved in aircraft base and line maintenance.

As a SLAE, your key responsibilities will include:

  •  To act as an Inspector for aircraft, with authority to carry out independent checks/duplicate inspections as authorised by Company Approvals.
  • To co-ordinate engineering activities, enabling the team to complete tasks to target and within budget.
  • Review the team's performance, ensuring product quality is maintained, whilst proposing changes to improve efficiency, wherever possible.
  • Ensuring the welfare and performance management of immediate subordinates - compliance with the Company's HR Manual and current employment legislation.
  • Carrying out supervisory checks on all aircraft maintenance and modification tasks as dictated by the MFTS project.
  • The correct and timely completion of all aircraft documentation in support of maintenance or modifications.
  • Controlling the aircraft Technical Log and associated component log cards and inventory.
  • The early demanding of spares for the rectification of defects and advising the technical controller of the stock levels of all consumables to ensure the maintenance of adequate quantities.

 As a SLAE your Qualifications and experience will ideally include

  • EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence Category B1
  • Approved apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • EASA Part 66 Licence with category C
  • No licence restrictions
  • EASA Part 66 category A and or B1 extension (some restrictions acceptable)
  • Hawker Beechcraft King Air B300 or B200 series experience and unrestricted type rating.
  • Previous experience in both line and base maintenance
  • Experience on pressurised twin engine turbo-prop aircraft above 5700KG
  • Previous military or defence contract experience
  • Proven and recent supervisory experience leading teams and a proven record of delivery in a production environment.
  • Good leadership and motivational qualities.
  • Commercial background - working to tight deadlines and budgetary requirements.

 What we expect from you: The ideal candidate will have be a self starter, who looks for lateral solutions to problems. You will have experience of delivering excellent customer service, whilst balancing this with representing the company's interests. You will also enjoy working in a small team & be able to work safely under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

An ambition to cross trade & extend your Aircraft licence certifications and a willingness to work flexible hours when required woudl also be advantageous.
