We have an exciting new role available for a Database Architect / Business Intelligence Designer in Southampton. The successful candidate will be working as a developer who is now looking to move into a new role as a data architect or a good Data Architect who is looking to move into a role that is more challenging.
You will be interfacing with analysts internally and be used to handling large amounts of data.
The successful applicant will be proficient in SQL and this will be tested at interview stage.
It is essential that you have experience building large databases but AI awareness isn't required.
Role Summary/Purpose : Database designer/business intelligence designer in the research, technology and development area of integrated vehicle health management (IVHM).
Essential Responsibilities : -Data-modelling and architecting
-Relational and warehouse database design to support advanced in-house analytics.
-Embedding within a team of analytical and math modelling specialists to achieve decision support for aerospace health monitoring applications within a global organisation
-Building large databases (>1TB) and writing ETL scripts for importing data
-Support data-mining activities (e.g. cube building and application of in-house analytic tools)
Qualifications/Requirements : -Commercial experience of designing large databases (>1TB)
-Strong relational and warehouse database experience
-Extensive commercial experience of SQLServer 2005/2008/2008R2
-Business Intelligence Tools (SSIS,SSAS)
-Thorough understanding of normal forms
-Proficient T-SQL
-Proficient MDX
-Data analysis and liaising with stakeholders
-Big data strategies (E.g. Indexing, partitioning, concurrency)
-Entity relationship modelling
-Profiling database performance
Desired Characteristics : -Software experience, including .NET
-Exposure to Microsoft data mining tools
-Awareness of artificial intelligence and math modelling techniques
-Knowledge of SSRS (Report writing)
-Interdisciplinary communication to forge connections with diverse domain specialists
