CompTIA Security+, Netbackup, SAN Manager~

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The qualified applicant will become a member of the Data Protection Team that provides information technology services to an enterprise data center in the form of enterprise storage networks, enterprise backup, archive, and restore systems that provide reliable, redundant, and highly available access to mission essential data and storage services. Roles and Responsibilities: Assist in the administration of the data recovery environment comprised of a Symantec Net Backup Master server, Net Backup Media servers, Quantum tape libraries, virtual tape libraries, and near line storage resources. Conduct daily reviews of Net Backup Activity monitor in order to identify unsuccessful backup jobs, troubleshoot, and resolve problems associated with backup jobs. Support the operation and maintenance of the Storage Area Network (SAN) comprised of Brocade switches and Hitachi and HP enterprise storage arrays integrated via a Fiber Channel Protocol (FCP) connected SAN fabric. Coordinate efforts by vendors and partners to maintain storage arrays, switches, and other infrastructure items that form the data centerâs SAN. Integrate servers, data center appliances, storage arrays, and storage switches into the data centerâs SAN by running Fiber Channel and Ethernet cable connections. Monitor the Data Center SAN using various tools/techniques (e.g., physical inspection, system monitoring applications, and automated alerts). Escalate issues requiring attention of senior team members, vendors, and/or IT partners. Author and maintain procedures and other technical documentation. Some weekend and evening work may be required. Hours: 8am to 5pm

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: High School diploma. 11 years related experience. Experience with a Symantec NetBackup environment including backup schedules, policies, and techniques. Familiar with Symantecâs Net Backup Trouble Shooting Guide and procedures. Knowledge of backup hardware components (i.e. tape libraries, near-line storage, virtual tape libraries, types of backup tapes (LT02, LT03, and LT04), and off-site tape storage concepts). Experience with SANs and performing related tasks (i.e. provisioning, allocating, and reclaiming storage resources). Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related technical field. 7 years related experience. CompTIA Security+ Certification. Symantec Certified Professional (Netbackup). Brocade Certified SAN Manager.
