Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen working for a prestigious Aerosapce company based in Hampshire. The requirement is for a HR Manager to join the existing team.

Role Summary/Purpose : This will be a key leadership role with responsibility for resolving complex short term tactical issues as well as leading key change initiatives to create a step change in organisational performance.

The successful candidate will need excellent personal strengths, including tenacity and influencing skills to successfully drive change in a very traditional and highly unionised environment. In addition they will need to be a well rounded HR generalist with good Employment Law knowledge

Essential Responsibilities : The specific experiences and capabilities required include:

Leading change which generates significant improvements in organisational performance

Act as a catalyst to drive Cultural and behavioural change in line with business strategy

Successfully driving performance improvement by maximising the benefit gained by appraisal, mentoring, review processes etc

Coaching and training leaders to equip them with the leadership skills and appropriate behaviours to drive performance and support culture change

Providing advice and counsel to management and colleagues to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and practices

Provide day-to-day Union Relations support, including the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and dispute resolution.

Take a leading role in co-ordinating internal communication, ensuring that effective two-way communication takes place and the communications are supportive of an engagement culture

Ensure that appropriate Learning & Development opportunities are provided to employees to further personal, career, and organizational development

Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment

Drive increased diversity into the business and ensure the diverse talents and abilities of current colleagues are fully utilised

Support the implementation and embedding of corporate and divisional business initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements : Degree, or equivalent

Key Characteristics:
Proven HR expertise, including value adding process improvement and successful change management.
The successful candidate will need to be Driven, Tenacious, pleasantly assertive and a good team player
Excellent knowledge of Employment Law
Have the ability to persuade and influence in a challenging environment.

Desired Characteristics : o Member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel & Development (MCIPD).
o Proven training ability.
o Union Relations experience
