Job Description
A new and approved airline is looking for a VP Human Resources. Reporting to the Senior Vice President Finance the Vice President Human Resources is responsible for administering human resource policies, programs and practices; including planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating and directing. Duties include formulating policies and procedures for the Human Resources department and recommending policies and practices to the Executive Board as well as to the Executive Vice President.
The Role
- Develop, implement and sustain an effective recruitment program - coordinating the recruitment efforts with department managers
- Prepares, recommends and maintains records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting on personnel data
- Conduct salary surveys and salary reviews
- Administers classifications programs, which includes analyzing positions ie writing job descriptions and evaluations for classification purposes
- Implement procedures for integrating new employees into the system and the administration of personal data changes
- Recommends and maintains personal records, both manually and electronically, for the purposes of controlling procedures, personnel transactions and reporting personnel data
- Design personnel forms and directs the maintenance of personnel records by all departments
- Lead the introduction of the HR Software system into the organization; liaising with Consultants to ensure the HR requirements of the Company are met.

Qualifications / Experience
- 8 years managerial and / or supervisory experience in personnel management
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, public administration, psychology and 3 years general experience in the HR field OR
- A Masters degree in Human Resource Management or related Personnel / Human Resources field
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- CIPD certified professional preferred
Technical Requirements
- Knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of personnel management
- Ability to develop long term plans
- Ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirement of the Board of Directors
- Ability to read, analyse and interpret technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
- Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form to the Executive Vice President and the Board of Directors.
