Job Description
Reporting to the Sales Director, this extremely important and exciting role will include a good deal of interaction with Sales, Imports, Exports and Accounts. Activities to include :
- Involvement in telephone sales calls in order to assist in arranging appointments and help with call-cycles for Area Sales Managers
- Provide secretarial support to the Sales Director; typing letters and emails, arranging meetings, etc
- Quoting & assisting potential, new and existing clients up to tender level where required by all modes of transport
- Quoting & assisting overseas agents up to tender level where required
- Manage and update overseas agents list
- Collate and supply overseas agents with weekly sales leads
- Negotiate freight rates with the overseas agents, airlines and shipping lines and update internal database
- Assist the sales department with back-up for quotes / sending e-mails. Also assistance with their e-mails and handling their work whilst they are on appointments.
- Assist other offices (domestic and international) where required and if possible for anything from quotes to technical support.
- Follow up calls where quotations have been submitted
- Organisation and if necessary distribution of Christmas giveaways & cards
- Involvement in design for new calendars / tariffs and communicate at all required levels with the results.
- General Sales duties
Computer input and retrieval of information via our FCL database (knowledge of FCL software an advantage)
Salary region UK£ 25K depending on experience
