There is a vacancy for a Propulsion Technician in the Propulsion and Air-to-Air Refuelling Maintenance Centre (PAMC) at RAF Brize Norton. The requirement is to work 37 hours per week, including flexibility to work Fri afternoons as and when required. This is a fixed term contract until 1 Jul 2012. There is also a requirement for the tradesman to be on call (rota basis) and to work outside normal working hours when required at the relevant overtime rate. Carrying out scheduled and corrective maintenance activities on the Conway, RB211, and Artouste & Hamilton standard aero engines. Carrying out scheduled and corrective maintenance activities on Mk32 Air-to-Air Refuelling Pods. Working within the Bays also involves servicing ancillary equipment, which may include carrying out NDT techniques. There is also a requirement for the candidate to support the Ramp Services team by assisting with the handling of visiting aircraft at RAF Brize Norton. The successful candidate must be a Propulsion or Propulsion/Airframe tradesman with post training experience, and with experience on VC10 or Tri-star aircraft. Candidates must have a full British driving licence including the ability to tow a trailer. Be certified as colour perception 2 (CP2). Be an excellent team player with a -can-do safely" approach to work.
