An excellent opportunity ahs arsienw orking for a prestigious aerospace Company based in the West Midlands. The requirement is for a Pricing & Cost Analyst to join the Finance team.


JOB TITLE: Pricing & Cost Analyst

MAIN PURPOSE/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The purpose of this role is to support the Finance department with pricing and costing activity associated with new bids and proposals, achievement of cost targets during the NPI process, make versus buy decisions and price reviews with customers.

The successful candidate will work with the existing team to drive to ensure that the commercial book achieves the desired profitability targets and that no work is bid to achieve les than the desired margins. This role will be focussed on supporting the delivery of financial targets for new bids and new product introductions as well as supporting pricing and design to cost projects for both military and commercial product.

This role will be expected to lead pricing parameters from a financial perspective and provide guidance to the programmes team as to the impact of alternative strategies. This will include developing financial projections including DCF and IRR calculations

The Pricing & Cost Analyst will also support Operations and Supply Chain colleagues in the evaluation of make versus buy decisions and support design to cost initiatives and project teams

The role requires an in-depth knowledge of inventory accounting, costing and cost rates development (ideally including for UK and US Government contracts), and the mechanics behind a bill of material. There is a requirement for experience of financial management in a complex manufacturing operation.

THE PERSON

The successful candidate is likely to either be a qualified accountant or qualified by experience with proven experience in a cost/inventory role within a complex manufacturing environment.

The person needs to demonstrate a high degree of capability in using integrated business systems including righting query reports and in data manipulation using Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with creating accounting entries including journals is desirable. In addition, the must be self motivated with strong communication skills.
