Company Intro

We are unique and complex and we're looking for people who thrive in such an environment. 

Our company was established in 2008 to deliver a new air-to-air refuelling and air transport service for the Royal Air Force over 27 years.  Working alongside the RAF and reservists, we will be combining civil and military aviation expertise to carry out air-to-air refuelling tasks and fly our Armed Forces to wherever they are needed in the world.  We will also provide all associated support services for the aircraft including maintenance, training, infrastructure, fleet management and ground services.  This is an exciting time for us as we start to grow rapidly in time for the arrival of our first aircraft.

We're working in partnership with the RAF and they will make up the majority of our mixed manning workforce, as well as a number of reservists.  We're growing rapidly but we still place a major emphasis on the quality of our people.  We look to recruit candidates who can demonstrate the same passion and motivation that we do.

Primary Job Purpose

To provide an essential role within the AirTanker Services Finance Department, specifically management of the purchase ledger and the Purchase 3 system, and to provide accounting support in preparation of the Financial Accounts.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the Accounts Payable processes using SAP, including taking on the PSC billing regime, working with the PSCs to manage the process.
  • Process payments using on-line banking ready for authorization
  • Administer the Purchase 3 system and provide help and advice to users
  • Ensure all paperwork is controlled and filed appropriately
  • Deal with any queries in relation to payments and invoices
  • Process expense claims ready for payment
  • Provide assistance in the completion of the monthly reconciliations
  • Provide assistance to the Financial Accountant in the preparation of the month end accounts
  • Receiving currency requests ensuring there is enough cash when required. Balance the incoming and outgoing amounts, and keeping records on Excel

Desirable

  • SAP experience

Due to the nature of the organisation, all employees of AirTanker Services are required to be security cleared to SC level. If successful in your application we would support you with the SC process. As a guideline only, you would normally need to have been a UK resident for the last 5 consecutive years.  Further confirmation can be found on the Defence Vetting Agency (DVA) website.
