Job Description
Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems. Their activities cover complete civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure.
They have a new and exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer
Assessing non-conformances and occurrences, and liaising with Stress, Equipping, Thermal, Propulsion Engineering, AIT, the Toulouse project team and other departments as necessary to optimise the definition of concession dispositions and to ensure that all project and qualification requirements for those related items and systems are met. Concession disposition sign-off is in accordance with the Engineering Support to Manufacture delegation matrix
Assessing and recommending second closure actions relating to non-conformances and occurrences as necessary.
Presenting and justifying design concessions at customer reviews.
Inspecting insert potting process control test pieces for acceptability, with sign-off in accordance with the Engineering Support to manufacture delegation matrix.
Participating in reviews to ensure all applicable non-conformance and occurrence reports have been satisfactorily closed prior to spacecraft delivery to the launch site.
Attending Team meetings to develop and maintain familiarity with the project.
Supporting the Team Leader with work-package management activities as required.
Raising significant issues to the project Responsible Engineers as necessary.
the identification of improvement activities and supporting reviews as required to assist in the selection and implementation of these improvements
The identification of product development activities and supporting reviews as required assisting in the selection and implementation of these developments.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or demonstrated relevant experience. Good communication skills and understanding of the English language. Aerospace structural design process experience
Desirable: Computer literate with a good working standard of Microsoft Office package.
Previous Experience
Essential: Must have previous experience and a strong background in an aerospace design or manufacturing role.
