Job Description

Our large Aerospace client are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to work on the design of Mechanical Test Rigs in their offices in Titchfield near Fareham, Hampshire.

Specification

The main job purpose is the design and specify test rig installations and interfaces for development and production testing.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:
Understand product test and associated hardware requirements
Attend and contribute to test rig design proposal and review meetings
Specify and design cost effective mechanical test rig and fixture hardware systems
Specify and design hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Specify and design unit interface equipment.
Ensure compliance of test equipment with H&S & legislative requirements
Provide technical advice to development and production facilities on test equipment
Purchase test rig equipment and liaise with suppliers

Ideal experience includes:
CAD proficiency - preferably AutoCad, ProEngineer, Catia or Solidworks
Proven experience in mechanical test rig design OR jig and tool design OR Mechanical Aerospace Design experience
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and pneumatic controls preferred but not mandatory
