Job Description
My Client is a Specialist Power Systems Analysis Consultancy with a core focus in the Renewable Energy Sector covering an array of sustainable technologies including wind, tidal, wave, biomass and hydrogen, as well a conventional power plant work. They develop core mathematical models and feasibility designs for grid connection purposes and currently work with large wind turbine manufacturers such as Siemens and Nordex in providing this service. They currently have a portfolio of 150 small wind farms to date and are looking to progress within an offshore capacity within the next two years.
They have continually grown since 2002 and are now turning over in excess of £5 million per annum. They currently have a staff of 30 and as a result of new financial investment, are looking to double in size over the next 18 months.

They are looking to take on a number of Principal/Senior Power Systems Analysis Consultants into their team. You will have practical experience of transmission, distribution or generation projects and possess a wealth of experience within the power systems sector. You will have strong technical interface on high end projects and have involvement with developing junior engineers.
There is excellent progressions opportunities to a principal engineering level. My client heavily invests in development of their engineers to the the best of their ability. Promotion is on the basis of self achievement as opposed to positions becoming vacant and so, if you have the desire and drive to progress your career further, this is an organisation which will be able make your aspiration a reality.
A strong passion, backed by practical experience within a power systems arena is essential. Understanding of load flow, fault and dynamic calculations and commercial software including IPSA, PSSE or DigSilent are preferable. Other analysis packages are also considered and practical experience equally valued. You ideally will have experience of using software language such C++, Fortran, Python or Visual Basic but practical experience is equally valued.
