Job Description
The Role - Experienced Aerospace Electronics Engineer. In this critical role, you will ensure timely and efficient completion of detailed engineering projects to achieve company cost and customer service objectives. Act as project leader with technical responsibility for design planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved products and/or processes
Job Responsibilities:
Generate hardware requirements and maintains systems and components specifications as well as system level tests for integration . Perform validation and verification activities for this design to include test procedure generation, test execution and traceability.
Create electronic design including schematic capture, detailed analysis and qualification activities for embedded aerospace electronics.
Support product development activities for multiple divisions on a variety of aerospace electronic devices, which may include some travel.
Create test procedures for ATP, ESS, HALT/HASS, LRU integration, DO-254 PLD activities, qualification, etc.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines; consult on new process, product, and market development activities; and support design to cost trades with suppliers to insure robust, cost effective solutions.
Perform analysis, evaluation, and troubleshooting of electronic products.
Author technical reports and Powerpoint presentations to effectively describe the technical aspects of a project.
Conduct testing of products and generate test reports. Participate in design reviews.
Actively participate to manage goals and objectives from a program, technical, financial and schedule perspective.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
BSEE degree with min 10 years experience in the design and qualification of aerospace embedded control applications (DSP, microprocessor, FPGA, CPLD). Experience in flight control and motor drive applications.
Experience with both digital and analog design (including motor control, ARINC-429, CAN, MIL-STD-1553) Experience with schematic capture (DxDesigner), VHDL, part selection, simulation, board bring-up and troubleshooting, hardware/software integration.
Excellent writing skills including experience in generating detailed electronics requirements.
Experience with manufacturing requirements associated w/power electronics in military / commercial applications. Knowledge and experience with DO-254/DO-178 certification standard considered a plus
Experience with LRU level (HW, SW, FW) integration test procedure generation/testing, HALT/HASS procedure generation / testing and Acceptance Test procedure generation / testing.
Direct design experience with Power Electronics including power supplies, DC/DC converters and/or DC/AC conversion.
Willingness to learn & perform a broad variety of functional and team roles and levels beyond existing specialties.
