Job Description
Lead Design Engineer (Rail Electrical/Hydraulic Systems) - Engineering
Qualifications and Experience
Degree level or equivalent preferred 4+ years experience of electrical and hydraulic integration and installation design in the rail industry
My client are looking for an experienced Senior/Lead Design Engineer, who must be familiar with integration and installation requirements of electrical and hydraulic harnesses (systems) within a rail vehicle environment.
You will report to the Engineering Manager and you will undertake concept and detailed product design and prepare associated documentation, Catia V5 3D design models (and 2D drawings).
Experience of E3 Series Electrical CAD software for the design of wiring routing's and a good understanding of wiring installation best practice would be an advantage.
You will need to understand fully the customer requirements, in order to agree valid engineering deliverables and confirm acceptable delivery milestones.
Participate and contribute to technical meetings and design reviews.
Ensure the achievement of agreed rail industry quality and design standards.
Present regular progress updates to the client and to the senior management team.
In this role you shall expect to lead the design effort, interface directly with both internal and external customers and be confident in presenting and promoting technical design solutions.
Skills
CATIA V5 and E3 Series
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to provide design leadership and work closely with others.
