Our customer is a leading name in the composite component manufacturing industry.
They are seeking to appoint a Stress Team Leader to their operation based on the South Coast.
This is a key role within the Stress Team in Engineering, your role will be to lead and conduct the stress analysis activities in support of Engineering Project requirements and work in conjunction with other functional areas of the company to develop existing and new products/structures.
You will identify the requirements of the programme, establish good working relationships with key stakeholders, estimate the work content and technically guide a team of Stress Engineers, including outsource/offload providers. In addition you will provide engineering input to technical, commercial and contract reviews within the company as well as liaising with customer to report progress, schedule and technical issues.
The successful applicant will have an Engineering degree or equivalent - ideally Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautics degree. Possess significant previous stress analysis experience with the Aerospace industry i.e. Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier. With in-depth knowledge of stress analysis techniques, and good knowledge of airworthiness requirements.
You will demonstrate the capability of verifying the structural design philosophy by hand calculations and have good working knowledge of available bespoke software techniques. Ideally you will have worked with: Hypermesh Patran Nastran MathCAD Exceptional interpersonal skills as a leader & must be of keen intellect and able to juggle varied and abstract concepts Able to constructively challenge at all levels and influence and shape the strategy for the business.
You must be prepared to work on the complete range of company Aerospace programmes, both civil and military.
