This is a key leadership role within the Manufacturing Engineering team and a supporting role to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, in the functional management of all Planning Engineers across the site ensuring that the deliverable output meets and includes all Quality, Cost and deliverable requirements.
To support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in ensuring that the Planning Engineering function is remains compliant to all applicable Business Management Systems and their requirements
Required to: lead, manage and develop the Planning Engineering team and act as the key customer, Internal & external, interface on nominated Programs
To apply a hands on approach to the role & will be required to construct and release relevant documentation in to the Cowes live system using our BaaN LN ERP processing software
Working with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and his team along with other Engineering disciplines, this role ensures that the Manufacturing Planning Engineering solution is delivered to the agreed technical quality, commercial and schedule requirement
The role requires extensive expertise & experience in Design for Manufacture on both Composite and Metallic components.
The role requires the ability to offer technical solutions, compliant with requirements within agreed programs and timescales
To develop and maintain an agreed set of performance measure for the Manufacturing Engineering / Planning discipline
Required to support the bidding process through the assessment of the engineering processes therein, at times providing the Manufacturing Planning Engineering function input during the acquisition of potential new programmes with customers and ensuring compliance to the company, customer requirements
To ensure all related corrective actions are actioned within a timely manner and that the outputs are robust and sustainable.
To ensure all related Concession dispositions are actioned within a timely manner
To respond to internal audits within the Manufacturing Planning Engineering process, or other related areas as required
The following skills, experience and qualifications would be ideal:
Applicants should have expertise in the use of ERP systems.
In depth knowledge and use of Microsoft Office software
An experienced Manufacturing Engineer who has worked extensively in an engineering team ideally within the aerospace sector.
Experience in working with Root cause analysis techniques would be a distinct advantage
Expertise in the understanding and interpretation of technical reports and specifications
Able to support to first article inspection requirements
Previous experience in acting as the Manufacturing Engineering interface with customers
