Job Description
Primarily responsible for supporting budget oversight and aiding with project planning for the new Additive Manufacturing Project, this role will involve providing support to the project leader in organising the teams activities; helping to ensure timely completion of the projects deliverables.
A working understanding of Health and Safety in engineering will be important. Also important will be liaison with suppliers, collaborators, universities and colleges as well as with the project partners EADS. The Project Controller will be involved to some extent in developing supply chain, commercial strategy and new market development. A high degree of technical understanding will be important for the role, as well as proficient organisation of own and others activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Working closely with the project leader in a supporting role, with regular meetings to discuss project progress
Helping to plan deliverables and work packages for the project
Maintenance of a resource plan
Assistance in submissions for funding of various forms and types
Regular reporting to the project leader and others on spend and budget issues
Close support during the creation and management of Health and Safety documentation
Purchasing technical equipment and materials
Managing maintenance contracts, warranties and other technical administration
Presenting project findings to various groups, internal and external at all levels
Liaison with external groups including collaborators, universities and suppliers
Taking part in meetings at all levels
REQUIREMENTS
Good experience in technical project planning and support
Proven record of managing budgets and finance, preferably in an R&D or technical context
Experience in purchasing of technical equipment and managing technical facilities
Familiarity with the creation of business cases
Thorough understanding of health and safety procedures and their introduction for novel technical systems or labs
High degree of computer literacy: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc. as well as specialist planning software
An understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Candidates with technological or R&D experience welcomed
Some degree of international travel will be involved
