Our Prestigious Client is looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer paying up to £45K.
The Company, design and manufacture high power electronic and microwave systems to operate reliably in the harshest environments. This is a demanding role for a senior mechanical engineer who will be responsible for the integrity of their design. He or she will be required to work with the lead electrical engineer to define a mechanical assembly to securely accommodate the electronic components within the specified environment. Using 3D CAD and FEA tools such as SDRC IDEAS, CF Design and NX design software you will e required to demonstrate ability of the mechanical design to perform as specified under all conditions. This will include presenting your analysis to our customers as part of the planned project design reviews.
MAIN DUTIES:
1 To design and develop mechanical solutions to incorporate the companys power electronic products for rugged military environments.
2 To evaluate design requirements and develop mechanical designs capable of meeting all aspects of the specification.
3 To develop mechanical structures and assemblies with full consideration of component tolerances to ensure consistent manufacture.
4 To analyse the effects of heat, vibration, shock and acceleration to ensure the design performs as specified under all conditions.
5 To analyse and resolve mechanical, thermal, interface, drawing and process problems on products as required.
6 To work in conjunction with the lead engineer to predict, analyse and measure the thermal performance of electronic equipment.
7 To investigate and solve mechanical production problems concerning jigs and tooling.
8 To liaise with Quality Assurance on the resolution of problems during inspection stages
9 To update drawings, Bills of Materials, MRI and other relevant documentation as required.
