Job Description
Our customer is a world leader in the provision of In Flight Entertainment systems and associated technical support services.
Due to the launch of a brand new product they are seeking to appoint a Technical Services representative to be based at their operation in Frankfurt - Germany.
Purpose.
The primary role of the Technical Support Representative (TSR) will be on site technical support of GCS product being progressively installed on the client's long haul aircraft. Technical supervision' of the customers contracted MRO staff will be required to achieve standard company performance availability guarantees.
The GCS TSR will also be expected to establish excellent working relationships with Customer Support Engineers and other company support staff.
The role will also require the continuous and accurate correlation of system performance metrics that will be reported internally within both client and the company.
He/she will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the customer.
TSR's work closely with all departments of the maintenance provider to enhance their practices and knowledge of the operation of our systems.
Key Responsibilities
Aircraft/IFE Maintenance and Support
- To provide technical guidance and assistance to the client's contracted MRO on all aspects of GCS maintenance.
- To assist troubleshoot and work to resolve system problems to liaise with and/or involve company Customer Support Engineers when systemic issues are concerned.
- To assist in the development of Preventative Maintenance programmes.
- To fully understand the interface between all service providers and provide guidance to maintenance staff when issues fall outside their remit.
- To support retrofit programs
- To develop and maintain GCS system performance reporting criteria and report same internally to stake holders at both company and client.
- To interface between contracted MRO staff, company Product Safety Officer and company QA in all matters concerning air safety.
- Develop an excellent working knowledge and use all engineering applications to disseminate technical/engineering issues throughout the company
- To support s/w and h/w upgrades, the implementation of SB's, AD's.
- Communicate and interface with customer.
Administrative/Documentation
- Document the testing and repairs using computer and bar-coding equipment.
- Assist in tracking the spares inventory.
- To support the introduction of SIL's, TIL's and Maintenance Memo's and or other company or contracted MRO documentation.
- Operate a vehicle on airport property and around aircraft.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.

Knowledge/ Skill Requirements
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions, procedures, blueprints, diagrams, manuals and to comprehend and follow verbal instruction.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook (MS products).
- Knowledge of electronic and troubleshooting generally acquired through commercial aviation, military experience or technical school education combined with one or two years of related industry experience.
- Ability to work in a high-stress, high-pressure environment.
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
- Works on problems of moderate to diverse scope requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
- Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways.
Education / Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Science based further education
- Possibly but not necessarily EASA B1 and/or B2 with relevant Type ratings (station dependant)
- 1 -3 years related industry experience preferred.
- Current and valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass extensive security and background checks for Airside access.
- Legal right to work in EU through passport or Visas
- A good high school education, with science based further education.
- Demonstrated experience in (aircraft) avionics, possibly with satellite communications.
- A good understanding of PC networks and configuration, multiplexed or software controlled systems with an interest in/knowledge of computer hardware.
- Intermediate knowledge of LINUX and UNIX an advantage
- Familiarity with EASA /FAA requirements
