Job Description

ILS Engineer - Aerospace/Defence

  

The ILS Engineers business ethos is built on providing professional solutions, which lead to reducing costs for organisations through preventative maintenance and conditioning monitoring methods.
Completion of Product Development Integrated Logistics Support tasks to schedule. Delivery of ILS awareness to IPTs. Development of ILS processes to support integration of ILS requirements into design phase of product development. 

As an ILS Engineer your key responsibilities will include:
Providing analytical skills in Logistic Support Analysis, LORA, CLS , Through Life Support Plans, Supportability. Integrated Support Planning, Lifecycle costing (LSA / LSAR), Training need analysis planning, Reliability & Maintainability , Availability Reliability Maintainability,  Technical Publications, Illustrated Parts Lists, FRACAS / FRB.


Tasking responsibilities will include:
ILS Programme Management.
FMECA, RCM. Spares Provisioning, Design Interface, Related Support discipline interface management, Report writing and findings presentation both to internal teams and if required customers, Packaging Handling and Storage and Transportation reviews and improvements
In-Service Reliability Demonstrations, Testability, Maintainability Demonstrations and Logistics Demonstrations. 

  

As an ILS Engineer your qualifications and experience should include:
Degree or HND/HNC qualified with suitable experience in an Aerospace related field.
Knowledge of Defence Standards Def Stan 00-60, Def Stan 00-44, and Mil Std 1388-2B.

Knowledge and understanding of Systems Engineering processes and development lifecycles.
Ability to pro-actively gather information from designers.
Ability to determine processes from briefings, reinforced through hands-on investigation and documented at an appropriate level of detail and understanding.
Ability to 'translate' information unambiguously into quality documents and reports using simple, clear English.
Ability to 'see-beyond' an issue and discover hidden details, options or alternative methods to tasks and processes and then capture and communicate them through written media. 

Experience on Mil Std's would be advantageous.
UK Military experience desirable.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain functionality and benefits.
Time management, task prioritisation, well organised, able to cope with pressure so as to be able to work unsupervised.
Experience with large cross linked documentation.
A team player with a positive, can do attitude.
