Job Description
My client based in Bedford, Bedfordshire is a renowned leader in the development and production of mechanical and electronic products and controls. Theses are used in conjunction with domestic central heating systems, i.e. electronic and electro-mechanical time controllers, thermostats, valves and actuators and of course the cooling systems themselves.
Job
My client is looking for two SMT Operator's to look after two machines: a Cencorp ( made by PMJ ) Odd Form machine, which is for through hole assembly and soldering cells, as well as a Surface Mount machine which is made by Assembleon Topaz. You will also need to have inspection and first off experience.
Role
You will be required to call up relevant software programmes for the product in manufacture.
Load and un-load PCB to PMJ / Surface mount cells
Work without supervision ( after training ).
Remove, replenish and replace component feeders when components are exhausted
Audit the outgoing solder quality
Adjust and change solder tips and solder paste as necessary
Clear feeder jams
Undertake routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication
Candidate specification
You will need to be physically fit as you will be standing for a long time whilst working on the machines.
Good communication skills are required and an understanding of Lean Principles would be an advantage.
Good mechanical aptitude is required, preferably with previous experience of working with mechanised production lines.

Hourly Rate £9.97 an hour ( £7.50 plus 33% shift allowance )
Duration Ongoing contract with a possibility of temp to perm for the right candidate
Hours of Work 37 hours a week
Shifts Night shift Monday - Thursday - 4 nights a week ( you have Friday off )
Times 8.15pm - 6.00am with a 20 minute meal break
