| Description | Position Title: Electrical / Software Engineer General Function: Design machine control projects of a high order of difficulty and complexity from initial concept to final prototype test & validation. Develop, create, and modify computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Performs diversified electrical machine design and controls on new or major improvements/adaptations to existing machines. Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for project planning, design of bar charts and updates, design reviews, design verifications. Confer with machine designers, engineers, programmers, customers, and others to design application software and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Modify existing software to correct errors, change it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance. Assist in the continuous process improvement and issue of the companies standard product machine line including: Design, Issue & Implementation of electrical control systems for all Standard Product Machinery in accord with NEC and Machinery Code. PLC Programming, CE Code as it pertains to EMC, EMI, LVD, and updates thereof. Education: Must have either a BSEE or BSCS with experience in Electrical Machine Controls Design and Software Development. |
| Requirements | Experience: Five years experience in Engineering field, preferably in machine manufacturing and controls of high speed machinery. Designing, coding and debugging applications in Visual Basic .Net and various structured text software languages. Must be proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, Rockwell Software Contrologix 5000, and ISO 9001. Must have good technical written and verbal communication skills. Must be capable of using typical Microsoft Office software. Knowledge of CE (European Safety Standards) is a plus. in addition to strong PLC controls background, I'm also needing someone with PC-based programming experience (such as Visual Basic or C++). |
