Aviation Director for Private Airline Operation
Overview:
Aviation Director required for Private Airline Operation for a current fleet of 3 aeroplanes. This is a full time position, based in the South of England, offering an opportunity for a confident, dynamic and experienced Aviation Director. The individual must be able to operate to a very high standard within the confines of all relevant regulations to ensure that a professional aviation service is provided to high net worth individuals. The operation covers a range of flight profiles from short European day trips to longer trips outside Europe. The candidate must be capable of representing the Company as a primary interface in various capacities with both client and Aviation industry contacts. The Director is the key member of the Aviation team and will be instrumental in ensuring that team members work together to achieve the required standards.
Person Specification
The applicant will be required to submit their CV and demonstrate their acceptability for Managerial Appointment for a pseudo-AOC Operation. There may be a requirement to be interviewed by a regulatory authority for this purpose;
Substantial personnel management experience, ideally gained in an aviation environment with evidence of additional training in a management role;
Substantial operational experience;
Substantial management of change experience, including designing and introducing new procedures and new working practices;
Detailed knowledge and understanding of national and international aviation regulations;
Undertaken a course of study/major in Aviation Management, Business Management or related field - a bachelor's degree or equivalent would also be desirable.
Possess a thorough knowledge of accounting systems and cost control mechanisms to allow for the production, presentation and analysis of an Annual Budget and Management Accounts.
Possess excellent IT skills including experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer.
A track record of achievement in a similar role in an equivalent organisation together with evidence of the necessary skills, including a proactive approach, to be able to deal with complex operational issues inherent in a fast moving environment;
Excellent communication skills including well developed negotiating and influencing skills, and evidence of success in preparing clear and concise reports, presentations and briefings on complex and sensitive issues for a range of audiences, including senior management and board members;
Evidence of success in forming and maintaining working relationships across professional and operational boundaries;
Evidence of working in and of leading teams, including managing change and introducing new procedures, standards and policies;
Evidence of ensuring continued personal development in teams being led, including on-going training and mentoring, to promote a cohesive team atmosphere and enjoyable working conditions.
