Ground Based - Instructors/Examiners
The Position:
Due to the on on-going growth of Emirates Airline, there is a requirement for Ground Instructor positions within Flight Training for the A330/340, A380 and B777 Fleets.
Successful applicants will join Flight Training as Synthetic Flight Instructors (SFI), Synthetic Flight Examiners (SFE) or Flight Crew Technical Instructors (FCTI) and can look forward to a fulfilling and satisfying career within Flight Training. The Position (Ground Based - FCTI/SFI/SFE)
Reporting to the Assistant Chief of Training within the various Fleets, the FCTI/SFIs/SFEs will be responsible for conducting training and examining relevant to their training qualification as required by the GCAA and the Company.
Flight Crew Technical Instructor (FCTI) - Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining currency and a high standard of technical and operational awareness on the aircraft type on which qualified.
- Conducting Initial, Conversion, and Nomination as Commander and Recurrent Technical Ground Training lectures, briefing and de-briefings as appropriate.
- Conducting Fixed Based Simulator (FBS) training.
- Conducting "other" training as requested by the relevant Training office.
- Completing detailed reports and assessments of pilots under instruction.
- Maintaining a subject "specialty" and responsibility for course development in the specialist subject as requested by the relevant Training office.
- Ensuring that course material meets the Emirates standardized format, in presentation and electronic archiving.
Flight Crew Technical Instructor - Qualifications & Experience
- 3 years previous instructional Training experience.
- Proven 'course' development skills with a working knowledge of current regulations.
- Familiarity with modern competency based Flight Simulation training.
- Proficiency in word processing, presentation and course creation packages.
- Proven ability to deliver briefings/lectures, to groups of Pilots using modern training aids.
- Experience with on line/distance learning delivery.
- Defining and implementing Alternative Training &Qualification Programme ATQP [or similar] - design of interactive on line FMS modular training and CRM facilitation, would be advantageous.
Synthetic Flight Instructors - Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cadet jet orientation courses, transition courses, recurrent training and third party training as required by the company.
- Deliver ground school lectures for cadets, transition courses, recurrent training and third party training.
- Conduct training on the FMS trainer, Fixed Base and Full Flight Simulator.
- Course development of specialist subjects in accordance with the Emirates Flight Training Policy Manual and GCAA Regulations.
- Conduct office duties, projects, course development and other related tasks as required by the Company.
- Conducting Transition and Recurrent Training, ground school lectures briefings and de-briefings. Participating in the Pilot Recruitment process if required.
- Conducting Instructor Training.
- Conducting Fixed Base and Full Flight Simulator Conversion Training.
- Conducting other training when required such as Cadet, Flight Crew Technical Instructor (FCTI) or for other airlines.
- Completing accurate, detailed reports or assessments of pilots under instruction.
- Assessing the need for additional or remedial training for any pilot.
Synthetic Flight Instructors - Qualifications & Experience
- Hold, or have held, a professional licence acceptable to the GCAA.
- A minimum of 1500 hours flying experience as a pilot on a multi-crew aircraft.
- 3 years previous instructional experience as a FCTI, SFI, Training Captain, or Type Rating Instructor/Type Rating Examiner.
- Have previously conducted flight crew training in a simulator environment.
- Preferably have completed the simulator content of the applicable type rating course at a flight training organization.
Synthetic Flight Examiners - Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Simulator Checks, Validations, Qualifications and Training as required by the GCAA and Emirates on cadet Jet Orientation courses, Transition courses, Recurrent Training and Third party Training.
- Deliver ground school lectures for cadets, transition courses, recurrent training and third party training.
- Conduct training and checking on the FMS trainer, Fixed Base and Full Flight Simulator.
- Course development of specialist subjects in accordance with the Emirates Flight Training Policy Manual and GCAA Regulations.
- Completing reports and assessments on flight crew under training or check.
- Completing reports and assessments on Instructors and Examiners under training or check.
- Completing assessments on FCTI, LTC, SFI, TRI, TRE when requested.
- Recommending additional or remedial training for any pilot.
- Recommending to the Chief of Training changes to SOP that may enhance efficiency and safety.
- Recommending to the Chief of Training changes the training syllabi that may enhance efficiency, safety or the quality of training.
- Recommending standardized procedures and teaching techniques for all Training Captains, and Flight Crew Technical Instructors to ensure compliance with all Company policy and procedures.
- Conducting ground school lectures.
- Conducting Simulator Training.
- Conduct office duties, projects, course development and other related tasks as required by the Company.
Synthetic Flight Examiners - Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified to act as Pilot-in-Command on the aircraft type.
- Minimum 1500 hours as Pilot of multi-pilot aircraft.
- Hold an ATPL(A).
- Currently or previously qualified as a Synthetic Flight Instructor, Type Rating Instructor, Synthetic Flight Examiner or Type Rating Examiner.
- Hold or have held a valid class 1 medical certificate.
