Job Description

Description Applications Engineer - oOEM Fleet Management. Fleet management supports internal customers to achieve maximum awareness and detailed understanding of their fleets to pro-actively service their fleets, trouble-shoot issues, and maximize sales volume through product and service introduction and appropriate applications to meet customer needs. Fleet Management trains and empowers Areas/LSC's to utilize the Fleet management system to access and contribute data and information relevant to units within their territory. As such, the function must also utilize existing processes and IT tools and augment them as needed to create a Fleet Management system. The system must support the activities described below, be accessible globally, and be flexible to expand capacity & functionality related to the activities. The Applications engineers will support the function leader in this endeavor. This position is located in VA. Essential Responsibilities: Maintain and manage data related to plant and unit information, equipment and part measurements, 3D models, product structures, configurations, operating data, maintenance history and all documentation Analyze fleet operational and maintenance data to predict service needs, and to identify weaknesses and potential for product improvements & upgrades Provide information to Product Management to support initiation of new products / service solutions Support Sales by providing information to Execution Centers, LSCs, Capture & Tender to maximize the fleet performance by application of improvement products Provide technical input to Product Management and Engineering to develop and distribute product documentation to sales Organize regular exchange of experience with other TSS product and execution centers Actively participate in the handover process from new equipment and retrofits to ensure the fleet management system accurately reflects the unit
Requirements Education Bachelors in Engineering. In lieu of degree willing to consider a minimum of 15 years with the required skills and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Minimum of 7 Years working in the Power Generation industry in a service engineering or Technical Field Advisor (TFA) role Experience designing and implementing processes and performing an information management role highly desired Minimum of 3 years experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems desired 3 years Project Management desired Measuring and reverse engineering experience desired Working knowledge with PDM systems Understanding of reverse engineering and CAD modelling Design engineering Data modelling & management Experience and knowledge in power generation equipment and operations. Developing effective presentations and presenting to groups
