Primary Objective
The Associate Vice President (AVP) Flight Operations will support the Vice President Flight Operations with the day to day Operations and will deputize for the VP Flight Operations when absent. He will carry the responsibility for Flight Operations, Operations Control, Flight Safety and In-flight Safety.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Ensuring compliance with the CAA, ICAO and JAR Ops 1 Regulations applicable to these functions in the regions the Airline operates in
The control and administration of pilots, operating standards and procedures for operating crew.
Working with the Operations Control team to coordinate and direct the Airlines operations ie. transport activity on the day, acting as a communication centre and providing operational services for other groups
Work with the Flight Safety section to monitor and report on all aspects of flight safety, maintaining accident/incident records (including the reports of investigations and any follow up action taken resulting from such investigations)
Work with Human Resources to manage the selection and recruitment of flight crew and supervision of flight crew training
Participate in interviews and assist with Simulator sessions across the fleets
Deliver good leadership qualities and solid man management skills
Offer excellent oral and written communication skills and ability, to effectively manage large, multi-party, internal and external projects at all levels
Be diplomatic, yet decisive and accountable, for delivery of a well managed cost effective fleet program - with quality and safety a priority
Be hard working and comfortable with a fast paced, quickly changing work environment
Bring a mature, outgoing, self-motivated and team player approach and attitude
Who Will Our Client Hire?
Our Clients preferred AVP Flight Operations will deliver:
Previous experience as a Chief Pilot
Previous experience in the flight deck, with a valid Pilots license
Type ratings on B737/300-900 or CRJ900 or Dash8/Q series
Attention to detail
Strong leadership skills
Team player and team leading skills
An analytic, diagnostic and problem solving approach
Excellent communication skills and computer literacy
