Job Description

This international client specialises in producing first class meal plans and logistics to airline customers throughout the Aviation and Commercial industry sectors.

Due to organisational changes they are now seeking to HGV Class 2 Driver/Loaders with to join their busy London Heathrow based operation.

The driver will be responsible for transporting meals and cargo to airport and off airport locations on time according in accordance to the companies agreed service level standards.

The main duties will be

To efficiently load and unload of food, catering equipment and cargo from the warehouse and deliver directly to the aircrafts using specialist vehicles.
To assist with the manual checking of all stock and ensure accurate records are maintained.
To assist with the searching of vehicles in order to comply with the airport security regulations.
To ensure the vehicle is refuelled and maintained at the end of each shift and ready for the next day.
To carry out daily checks of the vehicle, and report any defects using the appropriate defect reporting sheets.
To assist ensure all loading and ramp areas in a clean and orderly manner.
To feed back reports on work progress and problems to the Shift Managers.
To ensure that tachograph discs are submitted in a timely fashion.

Successful applicants must be able to provide 5 years checkable references, a clear criminal record check and meet the following criteria:

Good Level of maths and English (written and verbal)
Hold a current HGV Class 2 (Category C) (max 6 points)
Recent LGV driving experience (preferably within last 6 months)
Full understanding of UK/EU drivers hours regulations.
Knowledge and possession of Digital Tachograph
Manual loading experience preferred
To be able to communicate at all levels
Flexible
Team player
Able to work shifts (a mixture of early and late between 0430 hrs 2330 hrs)
Manual loading experience gained from either an airport or warehousing environment
