Job Description

Machinery, Electrical, System Evaluations~

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Description/Comment: Candidate will initially be involved in the production of technical instructions including reactor, steam, and electrical plant test procedures for CVN 78, but then the candidate will eventually work on the Waterfront with the intention to become a Shift Test Engineer. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations. Hours: 7:30am to 4pm

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Ex-Navy, nuclear power school and E6 or higher, both Machinery-background and Electrical/Electronic-background to be considered for opening MUST have a Bachelors in Engineering (ABET-accredited). Job requires Naval Nuclear experience in Machinery or Electrical/Reactor Controls division. Candidate must be able to follow detailed procedures, drawings and schematics during shipboard testing and operations. Candidate may be requested to assist in preparation of test and operating procedures. Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with a wide range of technical and non-technical personnel. This position will require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, including the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc.
