The Position: To provide engineering cover to Flight Training, Cabin Crew Training and In-Flight Services Training devices. The role involves complex fault rectification and updates to the overall performance and fidelity of devices. The incumbent will be operating with time constraints, in a shift environment and on equipment with a high capital value.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Specialist knowledge will be applied to the resolution of project tasks or complex faults, or to provide generalist skills in all areas of technical involvement, the role will involve liaison with internal and external agencies.
- Will be expected to use theory and application of engineering principles. Experiential knowledge will also be a significant factor in assessing situations and planning resolution of problems encountered.
- Will be expected to be time-bound in executing complex projects within budget. Will also coordinate effort and monitor performance of external technical contractors as part of overall project management requirement.
- Maintain standards of service to Flight Operations, 3rd Party Training, Cabin Crew Training, and In-flight Services Training. Communication of events and information to internal contacts to allow those contacts to plan or modify theft plans accordingly. Frequent contact and development of working relationships essential to smooth running of operation.
- Will be required to teach and advise on training requirements of colleagues as well as take part in on-going training activities to update skills of self and others.
- Must plan own activities in such a way as allocated tasks and projects are completed within cost and time scale in order to maintain or meet operational requirements.
- Will work within established procedural framework ensuring integrity of training software and simulation fidelity. Will always work to highest safety standards both in terms of personal safety of self and others, and in terms of Regulatory Authority requirements that may have a direct impact on crew training and safety.
- Will be expected to suggest improvements to working practices and procedures when encountering areas worthy of such improvement, and where an operational or safety benefit may be obtained.
- Problems may require an analytical approach involving judgment and evaluation. Approach to problem solving may vary depending on circumstances and symptoms. At all times role holder must be adaptable.
- Will provide contribution to services that maintain operational training requirement and ensure availability at all times to end users. May recommend improvements to devices in such as way as to improve overall training amenity to end users.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree in an Engineering (Preferably Aeronautical) with a minimum of 3 years industry experience. Alternatively academic requirements may be substituted for proven experience and expertise gained within the industry.
- Preferably simulator flight dynamic modelling, qualification test guide (QTG) testing and evaluation and simulator certification experience.
- Formal product training on vendor equipment and technically competent.
- 3+ years Engineering / Flight Simulator / Training Equipment.
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills.
