Research Analysis, Methods Development, Calibration~
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will perform analyses involving a wide variety of instrumental techniques used to measure material properties such as Surface Area, Material Strength, and Particle Size in support of UOP processes. Additional characterization measurements will include density, digital imaging, and some elemental analysis using various spectroscopic techniques. The candidate will provide shift coverage as necessary to support the business needs. Shift coverage will include days, evenings, and weekends.
Additional responsibilities will include methods development, instrument calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting, and the ability to undertake numerous tests with consistency and accuracy and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical skills are essential, including the ability to evaluate data, participate in technical discussions, perform investigations of unexpected results and develop alternative plans.
REQUIREMENTS:
A BS or MS in Chemistry or Materials Science, a strong academic record, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Candidates with extensive experience will be considered. Candidates are expected to have knowledge and experience with analytical instrumentation.
