Continuing Airworthiness Deputy Manager
The Continuing Airworthiness Deputy Manager is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance undertaken on Medavia's fleet is carried out on time and to an approved standard. Responsibilities include:-
- Development and control of a maintenance programme for each of the aircraft managed including any applicable reliability programme;
- Presenting the aircraft maintenance programme and its amendments to the competent authority for approval
- Analysis of the effectiveness of aircraft approved maintenance programmes;
- Managing of mandatory and non mandatory modification/change and repairs to an approved standard;
- Ensuring that all maintenance is carried out on time and in accordance with the approved maintenance programme and released by a maintenance organisation approved in accordance with Part 145;
- Ensuring that all applicable airworthiness directives and operational directives with a continuing airworthiness impact are applied;
- Ensuring that all defects discovered during scheduled maintenance or reported are corrected by an appropriately approved maintenance organisation;
- Ensuring that the aircraft is taken to an appropriately approved maintenance organisation, whenever necessary, coordinate scheduled maintenance, the application of airworthiness directives, the replacement of service life limited parts, component inspection, defect rectification and to ensure the work is carried out properly;
- Managing and archiving all continuing airworthiness records and/or operator's;
- Submitting initial and renewal applications in respect of Certificates of Airworthiness / ARC respectively;
- Carrying out corrective action raised by the Quality System in relation to Continuing Airworthiness;
- Ensuring that Deferred Defects are closed within the time limits;
- Collation preparation of all data required in connection with the reliability program;
- Preparation of maintenance work packages;
- Initiating maintenance contracts with maintenance providers as applicable.
Applicants for the position should:
- Have five years management experience, two of which should be from the aeronautical industry in a position related to: maintenance management or continuing airworthiness or quality management.
- Hold an engineering degree from aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, avionic or other studies relevant to the maintenance and continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components
OR
- Hold or have held an ICAO Type II Aircraft Engineer licence with CRS privileges or Part 66 with a B1 or B2 or C category together with a recognised diploma in management studies
- Have practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
- Have knowledge of relevant operational requirements and procedures, including AOC operations specifications and a knowledge of Quality Systems
