Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Duration : 12 Week Contract
Hours: 37.5 Hour Week
Location: Dorset

Temporary Electrical Engineer - 12 week contract

We have an immediate vacancy for an experienced temporary Electrical Engineer, to work within the electrical section of our Engineering team. For the right candidate this could lead to a permanent position.

The job requires an electrical engineering background and involves activities on all company products, but particularly at present, our wastewater treatment products.

Job Description

The primary part of this role will require experience of three phase controls - some electro-mechanical and some plc. Candidates will not be expected to design from a base level, but the will be expected to use our existing systems Siemens Step 7 and WinCC software and customise against our requirements.

The secondary role will be to look at existing control panel designs, update these accurately in line with latest legislation, write procedures and the necessary test specifications.

Person Specification

Must be qualified to Diploma or Certificate level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and have good experience with the design and documentation of power and control circuits.

They must demonstrate:
1) Capabilities in AutoCAD, MS Office and general IT awareness.
2) Practical knowledge of control system build, wiring and testing.

It would be advantageous, though not essential, if they were able to demonstrate PLC and HMI programming skills.

The candidate will ideally have worked in a marine or alternatively a mechanical engineering environment, but this is not essential.

The candidate must be prepared to undertake short overseas business trips from time to time. (They must be prepared to fly worldwide).

Organisation and accuracy are essential qualities, as well as good communications skills and the ability to work in a small but flexible team environment.
