System Maintenance, GMD, GECIC~
RESPONSIBILITIES:
24/7 System Maintenance Support for the Ground-based Mid Course Defense (GMD) Element Coordination and Information Center (GECIC) located at Schriever AFB, CO.
This position is for a Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Element Coordination and Information Center (GECIC) operations controller and is located at the Missile Defense Integration and Operation Center, Schriever AFB, CO. The GECIC Controller teams with the Senior Controller in the execution of sustainment activities and provides 24/7/365 support to the Missile Defense Agency and warfighter community. The GECIC primary functions are executing system level transitions between test, development, and operations, hardware and software configuration control, world-wide system asset management, and maintaining situational awareness and reporting anomalies. Additional responsibilities include: writing, reviewing and updating operational checklist; processes and procedures, and plans; deploy/travel to other GMD operational sites; determine cause for system malfunctions by applying advanced operational concepts analysis principles and concepts. GECIC Deputy Controllers must be able to communicate effectively with senior management and senior government officials and frequently use and apply operational concepts analysis standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. Must be an aggressive self-starter, able to operate with minimal supervision, be able to quickly assess situations and apply proper knowledge and procedures to support rapid decision making and reporting. Attention to detail, good writing and briefing skills required. Shift work is required. Must have ability to facilitate resolutions to issues between the GECIC, developmental teams, operations sites and other support activities and have the ability to operate under high tempo, demanding conditions. Researches, analyzes, and compiles technical data for company products and system-level concepts in the projected operational environments to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle. Applies systems engineering processes, methodologies and tools to the design of system of systems, systems and new product development. Derives and develops architectures, functional requirements, refinements and product designs. Assists in the integration of technical, cost, value, risks and specialty engineering considerations into definition of the product. Interfaces with other members of the project or program teams, management, sales and marketing staff, customers and suppliers to meet group, organization and company objectives.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Prior military operations center experience preferred, a Bachelor's Degree is required.
