Job Description
We are looking for potential candidates with specialization in Propulsion, Thermodynamics, and Compressible flows to support Gas Turbine Performance related activities for one our strategic customers.
Performance group supports complete engine life cycle activities, starting from Engine conceptual Design, to Developmental studies and support to After-market services. This team's key focus is to carry out transient and steady state modeling to predict the performance impact of engine design changes, support engine testing, diagnosis of engines failing PAT test, trend analysis of production engines and analysis of in-service events. A key part of this activity involves supporting the wider RR organization in understanding steady state and transient performance data requests and supplying responses. Examples of typical tasks that need undertaken: Interpretation of data requests from non-performance engineers. A key part of this is making sure that the appropriate questions have been asked and a clear requirements capture of what needs to be supplied to answer these is achieved. The task then involves carrying out any necessary modeling and/or analysis and providing appropriate data and Reports. Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. Capable of learning how to use Alice, Phobos, running performance models and modifying input files as appropriate.
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:
Masters of Engineering / MSc./ M. Tech.
Experience Range: 2 - 6 years
Discipline:
Highest Education should be Aero ( Propulsion), Thermals
Mandatory skills:
Gas Turbine domain knowledge
Demonstrated experience in the engine performance related activities
Software skills:
Microsoft packages ( Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Fortran, C++ familiarity will be an advantage.
