Job Purpose:

As a Training Needs Analyst - to conduct the job/task analysis and subsequent training options analysis for:
a) The training solutions to be delivered to enlisted personnel in a brand new Phase 2 training school for the Middle East.
b) The training solutions to be delivered to Royal Navy (RN) Off Shore Patrol Vessel (OPV) personnel.

To work within a team of circa 6 other analysts to ensure that there is consistency and efficiency across the streams.

The role holder will:

* Conduct Role and Task Analysis in accordance with JSP 822.
* Conduct Training Options Analysis in accordance with JSP 822.
* Provide presentation and estimating support to the project.
* Support engagement with suppliers and customers both within the United Kingdom and abroad e.g. Europe, Middle East.
* Adhere to the project's governance, configuration and change control processes.

Functional Knowledge (Technical Qualifications & Experience):

* Have successfully completed a Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Training Needs Analysis course (preferably Defence Academy Course No. 47 - DSAT Training Needs Analysis) or a similar training framework course.
* Have knowledge and at least 12 months experience of the successful application of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT), including the DSAT Quality Management Standard (QMS) and DSAT guidance documentation.
* Have a wide knowledge and understanding of current individual and team training methods and media, including Computer Based Training (CBT), multimedia, simulation and Virtual Reality (VR).
* Have knowledge of Royal Navy surface fleet branch structures and their associated training pipelines.
* Have the ability to provide training needs analysis advice and support to the project leadership.
* Have high quality standards with focus on service delivery and exceeding customers' expectations.
Experience of training needs analysis within the Royal Navy Training System would be advantageous.

The role holder requires:

* Significant analytical capability - the ability to form and ask relevant, concise questions and then determine the value of any response.
