Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group is the United Kingdom's leading independent Aerospace Company and are renowned and respected worldwide for its quality of service, engineering excellence, flexibility and reliability. Following a recent promotion the Production Engineering Department are now looking for a Trainee Manufacturing Engineer to work from the Kirkbymooreside facility that has some relevant experiences within the industry sector.

The ideal candidate would ideally possess a basic knowledge of production principles for composite materials as well as manufacturing processes in order to help deliver technical solutions on a number of projects within different sectors of industry.
As a Trainee Manufacturing Engineer, the candidate will have proven experience working with engineers within a composite material based project and bringing it to a successful completion.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Perform as a team member of the Production Engineering department and integrated project team at Kirkbymooreside
* To liaise with production engineers in the selection of correct materials for both tooling and support fixtures for parts manufacture.
* To comply with the company's BMS (Business Management System) & LCM (Lifecycle management) processes
* Ideally have basic knowledge of Composite materials and processes

Key responsibilities:
* Comply with the company's management systems & processes (BMS, LCM)
* Support bid teams with the creation of concept solutions, work breakdown structures and estimates for production and manufacturing
* Contribute to PDP/PMP, providing support for the production and manufacturing approach
* Support product concept and detailed design, recommend production and manufacturing easements that will reduce cost, simplify the process or reduce lead-time
* Support in producing build standard instructions for optimum costs and efficiency
* Help determine the preferred Condition of Supply (CoS) for the supply of parts / components
* Assist in the review of new technology and develop manufacturing processes that reduce cost, improve quality or increase efficiency
* Development of a Continuous Improvement culture using Lean techniques that increase efficiency
* Work within budget and schedule requirements
* Ensure correct booking to costing/budget system
* Contribute to own Continuous Personal Development plan

The successful applicants will form part of an exciting department which covers a diverse range of activities to help shape the success of the organisation and its objectives.
