Parallel to its helicopter business Airbus Helicopters is the main supplier of aircraft doors for Airbus Operations. Airplane Doors Engineering is a design & built supplier for cabin entry systems. You will be part of an integrated development team.
The position offers a final year thesis. Main focus of the thesis is a systematic product development for an airplane door outer skin. The new part shall be manufactured from thermoplastic CFRP material and optimized for the manufacturing capabilities of this material group. Main interest of the thesis is an integrated product and process development for a stiffened skin panel. Latest thermoplastic material and latest processing equipment shall be applied.
Tasks & accountabilities
The thesis analyses the manufacturing process, develop the new part through all necessary production steps including process security and will evaluate weight and cost of the part.
* Enrolled student within Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Engineering/Avionics or similar field of study
* CATIA V5 R21 (part design, assembly design, generative shape design)
* FEM experience based on commercial software ANSYS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, Hyperworks)
* English: fluent
* German: advanced
You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
