Duration: 6 months
Within Airbus Helicopters we are responsible for developing methods & tools for both Non Destructive Testing and Manufacturing Process Simulation. We have interfaces to the Design Office, Production and support product development directly or through research projects. You will belong to the Manufacturing Process Simulation team, which is responsible for introducing new methods to virtually analysis the conversion of raw materials to final goods.

Tasks & accountabilities
You will explore how simulation can contribute in an improved understanding of the influence of manufacturing on composite part design. The focus will be on distortion and its effect on subsequent assembly steps. Your task shall cover:
* Investigation of impact of design features such as curved profiles
* Joggles & beadings on global deformation behaviour of relevant helicopter parts
* Developing guidelines and/or design criteria for minimization of part distortion for selected features
* Continuous process improvement of simulating process-induced deformation
* Enrolled master student within Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study
* Experience with CAD & FEM tools, e.g. CATIA, HyperWorks, ABAQUS
* Fundamental understanding of composite manufacturing
* English: fluent
* German: advanced
You are a good team player, have good communication skills, and are able to work independently.
