We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Infrastructure Change Manager - IT & Facilities

Primary Job Purpose

Effective Management of all Infrastructure (IT & Facilities) portfolio Changes to ensure the delivery of desired business outcomes.  Work with other business areas to support and guide them through the required steps to implement infrastructure related change.  Co-ordination and planning of infrastructure changes with other business change teams, ensuring they are sufficiently prepared for the impact.  Support the project sponsors with elements of organisational change and readiness an activity, ensuring the business is prepared for business change.  Provide direct support to the Business Improvement (BI) team with the definition, scoping and implementation of infrastructure related improvements, including the tracking and realisation of benefits for IT related changes

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure the open and accurate exchange of information and a joint, pro-active approach to Infrastructure Changes.

  • Assist customers with the documentation, business case development and submission of Infrastructure change requests.

  • Provide customers with regular status updates for their respective Infrastructure changes.

  • Provide a professional and customer-focussed Infrastructure Change process, ensuring that every opportunity is taken to add value and increase the Business Improvement workshops and rapid improvement events

  • Business Change activities for the project

  • Deliver and implement project change approach, plan and strategy

  • Communications strategy and plan

  • Training needs analysis strategy and plan

  • Business readiness activities

  • Stakeholder engagement and management approach

  • Lead and promote effective ways of working within teams

  • Reporting, planning, managing to plan, managing risks/issues, appropriate escalation

  • Such other activities as may be required to fulfil effective infrastructure change management.


  • Experience managing infrastructure changes using a recognised methodology and best practice

  • Detailed understanding of the impact of change, the interdependencies and impact on the business

  • Experience of impacting, assessing and planning for organisational change

  • Formal Project Management qualification (PRINCE2, APMP, Agile or similar).

  • Extensive knowledge of Infrastructure Technology

  • Security cleared to SC, or no impendence to obtaining SC

  • Proactive, hands-on approach, self-starter that is able to take the initiative

  • Flexible, proactive and pragmatic

  • Excellent communications skills with employees at the operational and executive level

  • The ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders

  • The ability to maintain effectiveness with changing environments, tasks, responsibilities or people. The ability to modify one’s approach or style in order to reach a goal

  • The ability to look at issues from a broad perspective, to come up with imaginative solutions, and to identify innovative alternatives to typical, unusual or difficult situations or problems.


  • ITILv3 Foundation Certificate

  • Experience of working in Defence or Aerospace sectors

  • Business Improvement qualifications (e.g. Yellow Belt Six Sigma)

Additional Information 

Due to the nature of the organisation, all employees of AirTanker Services are required to be security cleared to SC level. If successful in your application we would support you with the SC process. As a guideline only, you would normally need to have been a UK resident for the last 5 consecutive years.  Further confirmation can be found on the National Security Vetting (NSV) website

If you have not been a UK resident for the last 5 consecutive years, please be prepared to request an Overseas Criminal Records Check for these countries as you will be asked to provide this for referencing and security checks if you are successful.
