RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform repairs and final acceptance testing on avionics and test equipment to include the replacement of electronic discrete and active components (microcircuits, transistors, capacitors, resistors, etc.). Specifically required to functionally test avionics and test equipment to determine operational condition, perform fault isolation and troubleshooting of faulty avionic electronic circuits, install replacement parts using high-reliability soldering techniques, and utilize hand tools to (dis)assemble avionic assemblies. Applicant must be capable of reading and interpreting assembly drawings and electronic schematics, which are utilized in the testing and repair effort, and must be capable of inspecting their own work for compliance to quality standards.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic circuitry to fault isolate discrete and active components. Experience in soldering to a high-reliability standard such as MIL-STD-2000, WS6536, or J-STD-001C. Experience in operating electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, counters, spectrum analyzers, etc. Experience using various hand tools to disassemble and assemble avionics equipment. Capable of organizing and prioritizing workload. Capable of using Windows-based computers. Good verbal and written communication skills. Previous troubleshooting experience of the following avionic systems is desired: APG-65, APG-73, IP-1350/A, Horizontal Indicator, AM-6979/A, AM-7360/A, MX-9965/A, MX-11609/A, MU-860B/ASQ-194, AN/ASW-44, CP-1334/A. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance is required. Required education: AA degree in related discipline and 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK HOURS: 6:00 - 2:30
