FPS Aviation are presently recruiting a Technical Manager for a market leading client who are expanding their operations due to new business wins. 

As Technical Director you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, overseeing and directing the maintenance activities carried out for Gama Aviation Limited , the UK Air division of our client. You will drive improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance planning and control, ensuring safety, operational, customer satisfaction and financial objectives are met or exceeded.     

The Role: 

Continuing Airworthiness Management responsibilities:   

CAM duties are further described in the Continuing Airworthiness Exposition, primary responsibilities include the following: 

  • Ensuring that compliance is maintained within the applicable requirements within the specific area of responsibility, including the regulations as laid down in EASA Part 145 and any other procedures required and approved by the competent Authority. 
  •  Establishment and development of continuing airworthiness policy, including the direct and indirect approval maintenance programmes required by M.A.302.
  • Analysis of the effectiveness of the Maintenance Programme as required by Part M.A.708(b) & Appendix 1 to AMC M.A.302.
  • The relationship with the Part 145 maintenance contractor(s) and establishment of a Maintenance Contract required by Part M.A.201(h)2.  

 The Person: 

Candidates will need to demonstrate a track record of planning and managing maintenance operations with sustained business performance, driving change, and building motivated teams. The candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of Continuing Airworthiness Management and the regulatory environment and either hold, or be capable and willing to hold, a CAM position approved by the UK CAA.   

Key attributes and qualifications are as follows:

 Proven track record of engineering management roles in the aviation industry, demonstrating successful delivery and leadership capabilities.

 Strong team building and communications skills, fostering a positive organisational culture and delivering continuous improvement

 Customer-focused with proven ability to achieve outcomes that meet customer requirements within contracted performance and planned commercial parameters. 

 Sound knowledge of the aviation industry and its safety and compliance requirements. 

 Sound business and commercial acumen with astute decision making to optimise business outcomes while adhering to safety and compliance requirements.

 Good influencing skills and ability to build relationship with executive stakeholders and exercise company values. 

 Confident, tenacious and assertive with effective negotiation skills. 

 10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience. 

 10+ years of experience managing multiple site aircraft maintenance including complex aircraft modifications.
