Loganair operates a comprehensive network of scheduled and charter flights around the United Kingdom, but predominately in Scotland. We operate Saab 340, Saab 2000, Dornier 328, DHC6 Twin Otters and Britten-Norman BN2 Islanders.
Applications are now invited for the role of Technical Instructor, based in the Engineering Training Department, Cirrus Building, Glasgow Airport.
The key duties and responsibilities include:
a) Responsible for delivering Part 147 Type Rating Courses;
b) Develop and review the Type Rating Courses accordingly;
c) Evaluation, planning and preparation of examination / questions and assessment of students as required to regulatory standards;
d) Undertake the duties of an Examiner and /or Invigilator;
e) Develop, review and deliver courses on topics including induction training, continuation training, fuel tank safety, EWIS and human factors training;
f) Ensuring that detailed records of student attendance / progress / performance during courses are maintained;
g) Reviewing and updating Practical and OJT training worksheets;
h) Undertake any other reasonable and ad-hoc duties as and when required by the Head of Engineering Training;
i) Further details of the nature of this role can be found within the Maintenance Training Organisation Exposition (MTOE) and the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
Personal Skills and Qualifications:
a) Have 3 years of relevant experience, including 1 year of experience on the relevant aircraft types;
b) Have completed a recognised teaching or training qualification, although support and training for the right candidate will be offered to achieve this approval;
c) Have a good working knowledge of Part 66, 145 & 147;
d) Strong, creative skills to deliver class content.
e) Flexible and proactive team member who remains open to supporting others and sharing knowledge while actively building networks;
f) Have strong IT skills and a good knowledge of MS Office applications;
g) Organisation and time management skills;
h) Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Loganair has its own modern and well equipped Part 147 Training Academy based adjacent to Glasgow Airport.
The successful candidate will have excellent oral communication and presentation skills, imparting knowledge in an interesting and engaging manner to the mechanics and engineers. He or she will also have a flair for creating study and learning packs, and will deliver courses with enthusiasm and genuine subject interest.
