Team Leader Technical Event Reduction & Reliability

JOB PURPOSE
Lead the Technical Event Reduction and Reliability team, responsible for the Part M Reliability function and for the ongoing reduction of technical out of service events in the current fleet, delivering measurable improvements in reliability and availability
To be the lead in all aircraft reliability enhancing activities, utilising the wealth of data we have available and continuous improvement techniques to implement new processes and systems to continuously improve our performance
Work cross functionally within Engineering and Maintenance to lead initiatives to reduce technical events and out of service time

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership and line management responsibility for the Reliability and Technical Event Reduction team, owning efforts to reduce disruption related to technical events
Representing Engineering at all internal forums concerning aircraft technical reliability and availability, and attending all disruption related forums within the company
Lead identification of opportunities to reduce technical events using analytical, statistical, technical and lean/continuous improvement techniques, leveraging data gathered from in service event history.
Lead implementation of reliability and technical event improvement opportunities, working cross functionally across all areas of E&M and Operations
Provide mandatory reliability data and reliability monitoring functions to satisfy the Part M regulations, and to meet the requirements of our UK, Swiss and Austrian AOC's
Identify automation and process improvement opportunities to continuously improve reliability reporting
Create long term reliability improvement plans and track progress against these, demonstrating ongoing improvement and increasing fleet availability
Work closely with the Predictive Maintenance Team to transition our Reliability process into a Proactive system.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
Experience in aircraft systems, airline engineering and reliability systems, and management of complex data
Graduate Calibre, with a relevant degree or professional qualification, OR considerable experience in an airline Part M airworthiness function
Demonstrable experience of introducing new systems and processes, with excellent I.T skills and awareness of what can be done with data and statistical analysis
Ability to cope with large and complex systems and processes
Demonstrable experience of working cross functionally and of implementing continuous improvement / lean initiatives
Creative thinker, willing to push boundaries and challenge conventional thinking
Strong people leadership skills, ability to build and motivate a team and continuously improve performance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexible
Numerate
