Maintain and manager the SMS department
A dedicated resource to the MAEL Safety Management System. The primary function will be to manage and maintain error reports, including following interviews with staff involved in the error. Analysis of all GOR and MOR’s related to the engineering department and H&S.
The role allows for a consistent investigations and removes the function from the Quality Assurance department enabling the QA audit program to be their prime focus. Working with customers to produce reports in a timely manner.
The combined function of H&S introduces a dedicated H&S presence at the Manchester facility (currently no H&S resource in this area).
Safety management- manage, maintain and develop the Safety Management System.
Evaluation of all GOR and MOR reports that are related to safety management i.e.
Interviewing staff involved in maintenance errors. Compiling detailed reports and circulating to senior management.
Health and Safety – Accident statistics
Work with the health and safety department in respect of health and safety issues.
Maintain and amend the safety management manuals
Ensuring the manuals meet the current and future processes working with the process analyst to develop procedures.
A knowledge of the Safety Management System and its impact on the business. General overview and awareness of H&S documentation and regulations.
A good listener, someone who can facilitate a group of people whilst conducting an enquiry. Capable of generating a professional report with clear recommendations.
Experience in aircraft maintenance from summer A checks to winter C checks, a sound technical understanding of aircraft maintenance and associated documentation. Educated to A level standard preferably with a recognized aircraft apprenticeship.
