A Systems Engineer is required to work on a major landing gear development programme. You will work alongside the Programme Chief Engineer to ensure that all requirements are properly defined, validated, verified and flowed down to internal and external suppliers. You will define and manage the certification programme to ensure that the Landing Gear design is certified and the aircraft enters into service on schedule.
Key aspects of this job include the following:
*Plan the engineering activities alongside the Programme Chief Engineer to ensure successful certification of the landing gear design. *Ownership of all certification documentation. *Liaising with the customer to ensure all requirements are properly defined and that the certification programme progresses as planned. *Generate all System Requirements Definitions, Equipment Requirements Definitions, Validation Matrices, Verification Matrices etc. All generated using DOORS 9.6. *Writing Validation Plans and Verification Plans. *Writing DDPs. *Technical management of equipment suppliers, including investigation of test failures. *Act as the DOORS administrator for the programme. *Ability and willingness to communicate and work with all disciplines of engineering and external suppliers.
Candidate skills and requirements
You will need a sound knowledge of systems engineering theory, together with knowledge of the principles of safety and reliability is required. Familiarity with ARP4754 and ARP4761 would be very beneficial. You will also have knowledge of the principles of mechanical engineering. Previous experience of landing gear systems will be very beneficial, as would some knowledge of hydraulic systems. You also will have the ability to write technical reports clearly and accurately (in English).
