Surface Finisher Technician 2 - FTC - Expired Jobs

Serco are currently recruting for a Surface Finisher Technician on a Fixed Term Contract until March 31st 2013.

The Surface Finish Technician 2 (T2) reports to the Surface Finish Site Manager and is responsible for the undertaking painting and finishing tasks as directed by the shift supervisor.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
Undertake a range of technical work, working under close supervision including strip down, repair and refurbishment, routine, planned and spray rectification and sign work for military plant and equipment, assemblies, sub assemblies and components.

Processing work according to schedule set by Senior SF Technician or SF Technician 1.

Performing surface finish tasks in accordance with the quality policy, procedures and standards required.

Manual (Abrading), Chemical and Media paint removal methods on Aircraft and Aircraft components prior to repainting. Applying a high standard of paint finish to an Aircraft using various paint schemes utilising modern Paint Application Equipment.

Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Aviation safety requirements.

Notify section leaders of any anomalies, failures, defects, corrosion etc which may give rise to a poor quality product and/or endanger Aviation Safety.

The Completion of Work Order documentation and associated documents where authorized.

That correct trade practices are employed and high standards of workmanship are maintained.

The appropriate health and safety aspects including COSHH and Risk Assessments are strictly complied with, including Control of entry by unauthorised personnel into work areas.

Controlling scheduled maintenance and servicing of specialized equipment.

Qualifications and Competencies

Qualifications:

- Appropriate experience as a tradesman RAF or civilian equivalent in the trade of Aircraft Painter and Finisher.
- NVQ 3 in Engineering Production Finishing or equivalent qualification.
- Qualified in Plastic Media and Dry Media Stripping and working at Height trained.
- Full driving licence
