Job Description

Morson are currently seeking an EEE (Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical) Supply Chain Engineer on behalf of their client, a world-class aircraft manufacturer, for their Portsmouth site. The Supply Chain Engineer will work alongside the procurement team to be a subject matter expert for the procurement of high reliability EEE components, in accordance with military and other specifications for space applications. The Procurement Specialist has operational responsibility for the procurement of EEE components from purchase request up to the release of stock.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the requisition release process from user release to purchase order preparation, including supplier selection.
  • Manage the overall purchase order lifecycle for designated suppliers, including order approval.
  • Follow up suppliers, manage deliveries and incoming inspections.
  • Utilise knowledge of the supplier base to negotiate price, lead-time, terms and conditions, etc., with component suppliers.
  • Manage the issue and assessment of suitable request for quotations for components.
  • Carry out status and exception reporting regarding procurement activities.

The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit an someone with a background in component/production/quality engineering, who also has experience within a procurement or supply chain function. The successful candidate for this role will have:

  • Higher vocational qualifications in Electronics/Physics/Engineering/Business or similar
  • Experience within an electronics industry environment, working within a Procurement, Supply Management, Quality, or Engineering function
  • Strong IT competency
  • Ability to use business systems and processes, e.g. Materials Requirements Planning, Parts Data Management
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, team working, and negotiation skills
  • A highly productive approach

Desirable:

  • Degree in an EEE Components Engineering-related subject (electronic engineering, physics, or similar)
  • Experience as an EEE Supply Manager, EEE Components Engineer, or EEE Procurement Engineer
  • Experience of EEE Components Engineering, ideally in space or other high-reliability applications
  • Experience with SAP or other MRP systems
  • Awareness of EEE quality requirements (preferably for space application)
  • Awareness of Product Assurance requirements

If you do not currently hold a transferable security clearance you will be required to undergo an SC check prior to starting in the role. The successful candidate will be required to apply for and receive a disclosure Scotland certificate prior to commencement of the contract. This will incur a fee of £25 which will need to be paid by card in full at the end of the application process. Please note the cost of the application is met by the contractor and not redeemable from the client.
