RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contract weights (mass properties) engineer on new development program. Develops weight predictions and target weights for structural and systems installations. Helps establish program life cycle Weight Management Plans. Performs weight monitoring of maturing designs and defines areas of weight growth risk. Leads and participates in weight mitigation activities. Prepares weight status using both industry standard and customer specific reporting tools. Calculates weights using preliminary engineering data and CATIA models.
Responsibilities:
Weight predictions, calculations and reports for airframe assemblies. Working as a member of product development teams which require frequent weight reporting during each phase of maturity.
Applying broad engineering knowledge to develop weight efficient solutions. Performing parametric weight calculations, performing weight calculations with preliminary data, performing weight calculations of completed CATIA models and weighing actual assemblies. Leading, directing and mentoring less experienced weights engineers.
REQURIEMENTS:
Successful applicants must have the ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently as required to complete tasks.
CATIA and Enovia skills are preferred since they are required tools for the development program.
EDUCATION:
Candidates typically have a Bachelor of Science Degree and a minimum 10 years experience as a weights engineer or Associates Degree plus 14 years experience.
