Key Requirement for the Position Key Accountabilities:
Primary responsibilities will be to manage short/mid-term scheduling and planning activities including day to day operational management of schedule changes and seasonal schedule planning.
To develop and integrate a network strategy, aligning strategic goals to operational constraints while maximizing return on investments and optimize asset utilisation. Design and implement suitable strategies to fill network design gaps and manage timely schedule updates and distribution. Prior exposure to airline scheduling, seasonal planning, revenue management and airport slot coordination will be desirable.
Job Description Job Purpose :-
Manage short to mid-term network planning & scheduling. Design and implement an exceptional route, network, and schedule strategies balancing constraints against optimal utilisation of assets and maximizing commercial opportunities while coordinating with key internal & external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should preferably possess prior experience in Airline Strategy and Planning functions preferably in Network Planning/Revenue Management roles and will require demonstrating leadership and team development skills while working in a fast paced and dynamic environment. She/he will be required to work with strategic and confidential data while contributing towards design and execution of the airline’s future flight network and product offerings. A positive can-do attitude, proactive, fresh & innovative thinking abilities will be valuable traits as a member of a small and highly specialised team of planning and scheduling professionals. The candidate would be expected to work with minimum supervision and independently on individual responsibilities and deliverables.
Track and monitor competitor actions and fleet deployment. Develop and implement network expansion plans through comprehensive commercial evaluation of multiple scenarios and present the same to management in concise and clear presentations.
Clear understanding and application of key airline KPI’s of RASK/CASK/YIELD/O&D traffic etc in evaluating route/flight scenarios and performance. Must be able to initiate and lead commercial flight/route evaluations integrating above KPI’s together with market intelligence, forecasting methods and insights from passenger datasets such as MIDT/Airport IS etc.
Maintain monthly reports and data reporting modules.
Internal Communication & Coordination: Regular interaction and communication with key departments of Revenue Management/Marketing/Operations/Engineering/Airport Services etc. to ensure high level of clear and specific communication pertaining to schedule changes and execution of strategic plans. Manage high risk operational schedule changes, at times under tight deadlines within operational, commercial and regulatory limits.
External Communication & Coordination: Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with Airport Slot Coordinators/Aero-Marketing teams and Government Officials in all matters pertaining to Network Planning and Scheduling. Represent the airline at various forums from time to time on matters pertaining to aviation policy, regulatory requirements, reporting and analytics etc. Liaise with airports to understand route development/network expansion opportunities.
Decision Making Skills: Lead the team through challenges by timely and decisive decision making through critical reasoning and logical deductions, use of mathematical or statistical methods in data analytics of trends/historical data evaluations etc. Utilize reports and/or generate & develop new reports using Microsoft Excel/Access. Knowledge of advanced methods and tools in using graphs/pivot tables/charts etc will be an advantage. Must be at ease working with various scheduling systems and tools and be willing to develop and implement efficient work processes independently.
Evaluate commercial feasibility of charter operations and explore business opportunities to maximise revenue generation while minimizing downtime and fleet wastage.
A. Core Competencies Proficiency Level (Expert/Moderate/Basic)
1. Experience in cross-functional project management and systems implementation would be an asset.
2. Systematic and logical approach to problem solving and a capacity to work around problems
3. Ability to adapt and respond quickly to a fast changing IT environment where the business requirements need to be translated to project deliverables.

B. Functional Competencies Proficiency Level (Expert/Moderate/Basic)
1. Specialized IATA certificate course on Network, Fleet and Schedule Planning.
2. IATA or equivalent courses on strategic network planning.
3. Must have a passion for data analysis, with excellent spread sheet skills to transform data into value-add information from multiple sources.
Education & Experience Qualifications
Educational Qualifications (Include additional certificate required, if any)
• Master’s degree level education with acquired specialization in Operations Research or in Airline business management or Mathematics / Statistics
Post-Graduation in Mathematics or Statistics. BE (Operations
Research) or PG in Airline Business Management.
IATA certificated courses on Network, Fleet and Schedule Planning
Relevant Experience (Type of roles & duration which an individual should have done in his/her prior experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Network Planning/Scheduling
• Same role in the previous employment
